God day folks,
Here we are again, traveling down some path of the unknown. So, you must follow along here. This is going to be a real shocker for those that have read any of the previous WJ thinking letters. I have some change to explore with you, or perhaps you with me.
There was recently a glad, sad, emotional, stressful, and yet relieving day here in Manning. As we came to the final close on some 38 years of work that was largely the pivotal part of getting Mid Eastern to where it is, I rested well that night. I just previously wrote of it, Mid Eastern Truck Wash, Inc. as we and so many more knew of it recently came to an end. Every single piece of anything related to washing vehicles was carefully dismantled, loaded on trailers, and headed west to a new home. As reported earlier, the name has been officially changed to Mid Eastern, Inc. Change is becoming a commonplace for this stage of my life. Folks typically dislike and maybe even distrust the thought of change in most circumstances. I’m beginning to just accept it as another normal day in the lifecycle. Don’t forget, the “Cruise-In” at Gaston is on April 22, 2023. Darn, there’s another change. Moved it from March into April and after Mid America Truck Show. We’re doing our best to make sure it’s a great gathering for everyone!
Another thing to remember. The Classic Car / Antique / Air-Cooled efforts result is that we’re selling off all that inventory at tremendously discounted pricing. There’s a lot to keep up with here. We’re doing what we can and all we can to preserve a way of service and yet trying to prepare for the unknown that’s likely lurking around the corner. We’re sticking with and plan to grow the Rving supplies store in the center building that used to be the Chrome Stop. That’s also where longtime Brandon will have the vehicle lettering and sign shop once again.
OK, just remember to mark this down. You don’t want to miss this event on a beautiful day in Carolina. April 22, 2023 “Cruise-In at 225 Bellinger Ln Gaston SC Exit 125 off I-26. In addition to great camaraderie with wonderful people and every type of vehicle, yes, it’s for trucks and that’s our main business, but lots of folks from a multitude of different clubs bring all types of vehicles. We have some “PEOPLES CHOICE” awards for different categories. We’ll have a great lunch. We’ll have as many Goody Bags for the participants as we can possibly put together. We’ll have random door prizes. We’ll have one or more 50/50 raffles. And yes, there is this… we accept donations for the food and such. It’s an all-out effort to do good for some folks that we don’t even know. I promise this, it’ll be a cause that touches every one of us in some fashion! It’s always been a fabulous time. I hope that you will consider coming to join us!
It’s here once again, The Greatest of Celebrations! Keep that in mind. Spring Breakin’, Summer’s on the horizon, people shaking around and it’s busy on the highways. Keep your cool. Keep smiling even when it’s hard. Never know what they are dealing with. Stay Safe.
All the Best,
WJ
