The Call Center. 41 Years!
Good day folks.
Sometimes something happens and it seems so big in the moment it deserves to be written down. There are three things about writing something down. (1) People rarely do it and because they or we don’t there is so much missed. (2) If you write it then it has meaning and it can also come true. (3) If you write it down the chance of forgetting it is greatly reduced. I am mostly on the third one.
Sometimes, as often as I can, I like to answer the phone at Mid Eastern. It is a lot of fun a lot of the time. I am not answering any more to hear a complaint about something on a truck wash. 😊
For some reason, most folks expect that I will never answer the phone and that often starts the fun. By Mid-morning I had already caught two good ones. Both calls initiated almost immediate smiles and laughter for both of us. One customer shared about a bumper install being completed and what a fabulous transformation the look was for the whole truck. Now he has more questions and is planning for more additions and changes. The next call I picked up was full of humor, service, availability of needed parts and then, the big thing. As the call was seemingly coming to a close he asked one more question. Where are you talking to me from, A Call Center? I immediately was thinking, does my voice sound like I am from an offshore different and foreign country? Now I am laughing and the conversation was NOT ending. We got an even better conversation fired up. It was a Saturday morning and for some reason the expectation of “Walkin’ Joe” answering the phone seemed too far-fetched. We exchanged some more stories and closed with obvious smiles at both ends of the line.
The July specials are Hot. It’s hot almost everywhere this time of year, at least this year.

The July 4th celebration weekend, a true milestone of 250 years of well-fought Freedom is now behind us. I hope we can all hold on to what the true meaning of this really is and what it does for all of us every single day! Mid Eastern is now marching onward for a 42nd year celebration. There are a tremendous number of relationships for the team members, me, our vendors, and our most important customers from being here all these years. We are Grateful!
