Good day Folks.
The year 2025 is closing out fast. Iâm grinning really big. Â Itâs a quarter century since the world was going to unravel with Y2K. Ha, I was gazing down as if from the stars when the clock struck 12 that night. I looked around at the earth for about 15 minutes, and nothing happened, so I just came back home and went to sleep. I hadnât planned that interjection for this writing, but it just came to me so there it is. Anything happened to you in this time gone by?
Â
Check out these pictures. In this quarter century of time, Iâve learned a lot. I learned from some dear friends, that are now gone, Â about how to cook large quantities of food and have it turn out to even taste good. You know, like 40 Boston Butts or 26 Turkeys all at the same time. The smell of the cooking stretched so far at our most recent run it brought one visitor from the sky to see what was going on. It was the ultimate beautiful Christmas Eve day given to us to enjoy. Thereâre other things learned with this and maybe the greater of it is sharing. Well, what else could you possibly do with that much stuff at one time? Whoâs got enough coolers đ and just how long will it last? This makes me ponder various subject matter words like humble and grateful and so on. Maybe it will be for you as well.
Â
Christmas time at Mid Eastern for many years brings the team together to share in and see this preparation. Then all enjoy the results for each memberâs household, a complete full out meal. Lastly and maybe the greatest is to see the extras shared about. I hope each of you reading this have encountered both sides of that for yourselves as well. This for us as a Team is what completes the season and celebration at hand.
Â
Have any of you had to drive on an Interstate in the last week or so. I have and Iâm sad to report that Iâve had to several times. I have recently thought of this in a little different way. I admit that itâs likely not very smart thinking, but it seems ok right here at my desk. If you are an adrenaline junky of any sort and feel that need for a fix, just hop in your vehicle and drive down any Interstate a few exits and come back. If you can find a section with some major or even minor repairs going on, then itâs all the better. That is easy to find in most places. OK, sorry, maybe you might just get off by yourself and do something that wonât hurt anyone else! I did the interstate thing and next thing I knew there were others following suit, so I just got off at the next exit.
Â
I am glad to be able to share with you what for me seems to be seriously considered and some humorous things. As the year comes to an end and we look forward to the next timeframe of our lives I am grateful even amidst the chaos and challenges of life.
